A handbuilt sculptural ceramic that identifies with the North Yorkshire landscape.

Landscape3 is one in a series of pieces that were built during the public health crisis of 2020-21. I was unable to get to my studio and so resorted to working in my garden shed. My imagination led me to the hills and contours of the North Yorkshire landscape. The piece is constructed by incorporating into the biscuit-coloured base clay strata of clays of different tones and textures. It is mostly sombre, but has striking strata of blue, a colour that symbolised hope for me during that period.
